We Provide Free Parkinson's Medication Globally
Parkinson’s is significantly influenced by the medications you take. Most people suffering with PD can use medications to alleviate their Parkinson’s symptoms. These medications work by restoring or mimicking dopamine, a brain chemical that plays a key role in movement. While they don’t cure Parkinson’s, they can reduce symptoms such as tremors, stiffness, and slowed movements.
At the World Parkinson’s Program, we provide Parkinson Medication globally. Through our medication chapters, we can provide free assistive aid and medication to people with Parkinson’s disease,
At the World Parkinson’s Program, we provide free Parkinson’s medications and assistive aids worldwide. Through our network of medication chapters, we ensure that people living with Parkinson’s have access to the support they need. Currently, we operate in 39 locations across 22 countries, with each chapter led by dedicated community volunteers, experienced neurologists, healthcare professionals, caregivers, or individuals living with Parkinson’s themselves
Why Medications?
Access to Parkinson’s disease medications can improve quality of life and life expectancy, from just a few years to over twenty-five years of someone with PD.
Without access to medication, Parkinson’s symptoms can worsen, leading to increased tremors, stiff muscles, difficulty balance, confusion, restlessness, and difficulty speaking.
Many people with Parkinson’s worldwide are impoverished and unable to pay for care. Many are forced to decide between providing for their family and receiving the medical attention they require to survive.
They will soon be unable to work and provide for their families without drugs, which would further impoverish them.
We aim to ease their burden, so they don’t have to choose between managing their health and supporting their families, friends, and communities.
Which Parkinson’s Disease Medications Do We Offer?
Levodopa
We provide free Levodopa as it is the standard treatment for Parkinson's disease. It is an agent that replaces dopamine. Your central and peripheral neural systems convert levodopa to dopamine as it passes across the blood-brain barrier (BBB).
For most people, levodopa lessens tremor, stiffness, and slowness (bradykinesia). It works particularly well for those with muscle rigidity and a loss of spontaneous movement.
Pardopa
Your body’s blood enzymes can break down the majority of levodopa before it reaches your brain. Thus, it is used with another drug called carbidopa, an enzyme inhibitor, and increases the amount of levodopa that reaches your brain. Additionally, it lessens severe nausea and vomiting, which are frequent adverse effects caused by levodopa. Thus, Pardopa tablets are made from a combination of Levodopa and Carbidopa. It is a combination medication used to treat Parkinson's disease symptoms. These could include slowness, stiffness, and shakiness. Lack of dopamine, a naturally occurring chemical in the brain, is typically the cause of these symptoms. At WWP, we provide free Pardopa to people with Parkinson’s disease globally.
Madopar, and Sinemet
We also provide Madopar and Sinemet, as the majority of people who take these medications don’t feel nauseous or unwell. These medications have significant long-term improvement, particularly in their stiffness and slowness of movement. Typically, treatment begins with a low dose. Until your symptoms are under control, this is progressively raised. Madopar comes in three different forms: dispersible tablets that dissolve in water, scored tablets that can be broken, and capsules that should not be broken. Sinemet is available as a pill. Depending on the dosage you require, Madopar and Sinemet are available in varying strengths.
Sponsor A Patient
Donate Today
Every dollar you donate can make a difference in someone’s life. Medication is inaccessible to many Parkinson’s disease patients in underprivileged areas. Your contribution enables us to provide individuals who might otherwise go without hope with life-altering treatments, dignity restoration, and hope. We at the World Parkinson’s Program think that no one should have to endure suffering just because they are unable to pay for medical care. Donating gives someone the opportunity to live a more comfortable life. Every contribution matters.

Our Process
The World Parkinson’s Program has established a reliable worldwide network of neurologists and pharmacies committed to helping people with Parkinson’s disease. We collaborate closely with medical specialists to identify people in need and guarantee prompt delivery of necessary medications completely free of charge, as the only recognized Canadian charity offering free Parkinson’s meds globally. Impact, empathy, and accessibility are given top priority.
Get in touch with us, whether you’re a patient, caregiver, or medical professional, and join us in our efforts to enhance lives and lessen the impact of Parkinson’s disease worldwide.
Step #1
Patient is diagnosed with PD, usually after referral to a neurologist and medications are prescribed.
Step #5
The WPP’s Medication Committee proactively reviews the list of upcoming patient refills by global chapter and generally continues providing medication on a 6-month basis. Note: The WPP is able to continue to provide PD medications for free because of our generous donors. Patients are not charged any fees for medications.
Step #2
The neurologist (or qualified MD) recognizes there are several patients who cannot afford or access PD medications and connects with WPP and applies for the medication program.
Step #4
A legal agreement is established with the MD or neurologist to ensure compliance with regulations and local laws. The WPP then completes the project by wiring funds to the local pharmacy and having them release the medications to the MD or neurologist who further provides them to their patients.
Step #3
The WPP confirms the patient's needs and the qualifications of the MD or neurologist through reviewing of documentation. For certain locations, WPP will also source a local pharmacy to provide the medication and review their credentials.
